Peter Wood on ABC News: "Going to College is a Gamble"

On Tuesday NAS president Peter Wood appeared on ABC News with Diane Sawyer in a segment on student learning and the value of the college degree. Also appearing on the program was Richard Arum, co-author of a new book, Academically Adrift, which finds that many students learn little in college.

Peter said, "It used to be that students who went to college were pretty much assured that when they got out there was a good job waiting for them. That's no longer the case. Nowadays going to college is a gamble." For further reading, see Peter's article "The Bubble: Higher Education's Precarious Hold on Consumer Confidence."
