Conference Call: The Civics Alliance

Who we are, what we do, and how you can help

Thursday, June 10th | 2 pm ET
Webinar Event

In March, the National Association of Scholars formed the Civics Alliance, a new coalition of education reformers, policymakers, and concerned citizens dedicated to preserving traditional civics education against the threat of New Civics. To read a detailed description of why we formed the Alliance, click here.

Since the launch, more than 500 people have joined the Civics Alliance, and we have begun work researching, compiling, and analyzing the most important civics issues and legislation facing America, led by Civics Alliance Project Director and NAS Director of Research David Randall. We recently launched a new section of our website dedicated to the Alliance, on which you may find detailed information on who we are, what our vision is, the work we have done thus far, and the resources we have created.

Our goal throughout all of this work is to inform and equip Civics Alliance members to advocate for true civics education on all levels—federal, state, and local. We also hope to inspire members to start up their own Civics Alliance state affiliates.

Join the NAS on Thursday, June 10 at 2 pm ET for a conference call discussion on the latest issues in American civics and our new Civics Alliance resources.

The event will feature David Randall, Civics Alliance Project Director, and Julie Quist, Board Member of the Minnesota Child Protection League. Ms. Quist will provide information on how grassroots work should be done on the local level, with an emphasis on how the Child Protection League has started work on opposing Critical Race Theory in K-12 schools. Following both speakers, there will be a time for Q&A.
