Video: Making Citizens DC Launch

National Association of Scholars

A recording of the Making Citizens DC report launch event is now avaliable. Held at the Society of the Cincinnati, the event discussed the disappearance of "Old Civics" and the emergence of "New Civics."

Regarding the two forms of civics, NAS President Peter Wood noted, “He [the student] will be drawn into an alternative world that, at first glance, looks a little bit like civics. It sounds like civics. It uses the word civics. People in it will talk about democracy, rights, freedom, and community, but it's not civics in the sense I’ve been talking about...It is, as we’ve chosen to call it, the 'New Civics.' At the root of the 'New Civics' is disdain for America."

The video of the report launch is below and also on NAS's Youtube Channel.
