Video: Civics Education Reform in the States

National Association of Scholars

The charge for civics education reform is being led in campaigns throughout the states. Each state provides a different political environment—some enthusiastic for reform, others lukewarm, and others hostile.

In this event, we talk with three Americans leading civics education reform efforts in different states: Mary Byrne, Ed.D., Educational Consultant and Director of Education for the Educated Citizen Project (Missouri); Katherine Kersten, Senior Policy Fellow at the Center of the American Experiment (Minnesota); and Anna Miller, Education Policy Director at the Idaho Freedom Foundation’s Center for American Education (Idaho). This webinar is moderated by David Randall, Policy Director of the Civics Alliance.
