Video: Celebrating America

American History Webinar Series

National Association of Scholars

American history is too often portrayed as full of vice and deserving of scorn. Rarely do we hear of the virtues and the triumphs of men and women dedicated to the cause of liberty and the flourishing of our nation. NAS has, over the past year and a half, sought to tell stories such as these -- stories of how America met challenges throughout its history.

Now, we want to take a look back at these stories in a larger view. What do they tell us about our national character? And what lessons can we take from them for our future?

This webinar features Steve Balch, founding President of the National Association of Scholars and former Director of the Institute for the Study of Western Civilization at Texas Tech University; Bill McClay, Victor Davis Hanson Chair in Classical History and Western Civilization at Hillsdale College; and Paul Rahe, Professor of History and Charles O. Lee and Louis K. Lee Chair in the Study of Western Heritage at Hillsdale College. The discussion will be moderated by Keith Whitaker, Chairman of the Board of the National Association of Scholars and a Founding Associate at Wise Counsel Research Associates.
