John Leo, a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, introduced panel speakers for Session 4 on The New Civics and Social Justice Advocacy. Sol Stern, also a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, presented the parallels he has found between teachers' education and the prevalence of social justice advocacy in K-12 public schools. Fred Siegel, currently a scholar-in-residence at Saint Francis College, recounted events of the late 1960s and early 1970s that led to politicization in college classrooms. Peter Berkowitz, a senior fellow at Stanford University's Hoover Institution, spoke about "how the betrayal of liberal education corrupts students' character and corrodes their ability to contribute to the public debate in a free society." The session concluded with a Q&A time. Session 4 was part of the National Association of Scholars' 25th anniversary conference, "A Mighty Maze" on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at the Harvard Club in New York.

The videos for each speaker and the Q&A session are below and on NAS's YouTube Channel. Photos from the conference are available on NAS's Flickr page.
