NAS Board Nominations Now Open

National Association of Scholars

Nominations to the National Association of Scholars board of directors for the 2014-2017 term are currently open. Members wishing to make nominations should email us at [email protected] no later than September 19. Nominating petitions must include signatures of ten NAS members in good standing.

The election of new members to the NAS board of directors will be held during the annual membership meeting, which will take place at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Alma Mathews House, 275 West 11th Street, New York, NY 10014.

The nominating committee of the current board has placed the following individuals in nomination for re-election:

  1. Daniel Asia
  2. Gail Heriot
  3. Thomas Lindsay
  4. Anne Neal
  5. Barry Smith
  6. Bradley C.S. Watson
  7. Keith Whitaker

Last year, the election of members to the NAS board of directors took place during the annual membership meeting on Saturday, December 15, 2012, in New York, NY. The nominating committee had placed the following individuals in nomination:

  1. Evelyn Avery
  2. Ward Connerly
  3. Midge Decter
  4. George Dent
  5. Candace de Russy
  6. Thomas Klingenstein
  7. Barry Latzer
  8. Amy Wax

By a vote of the members present, they were elected to be NAS directors. The terms for these directors began on January 1, 2013, and will end on December 31, 2016.
