Event: Mind Parasites?

National Association of Scholars

Why do bad ideas spread so rapidly? Do bad ideas spread as a kind of malignant mind-worm pandemic? Or is there a kind of Gresham’s Law, of bad ideas driving out good ones?

Join us at 3 pm ET on Friday, May 17, 2024 for what promises to be a fascinating conversation in the next episode of Restoring the Sciences.

This event will feature Gad Saad, an evolutionary psychologist and Professor of Marketing at Concordia University in Montréal, where he held the Research Chair in Evolutionary Behavioral Sciences and Darwinian Consumption. He has sought to bring Darwinian thinking to understanding consumer behavior and developing marketing campaigns that are informed by principles of evolutionary psychology.

Among his several books are The Consuming Instinct: What Juicy Burgers, Ferraris, Pornography, and Gift Giving Reveal about Human NatureThe Parasitic Mind: How Infectious Ideas Are Killing Common Sense, and most recently The Saad Truth About Happiness.
