The College Board's Irresponsible Cheerleading

George Leef

Every few years, the College Board releases a new version of its Education Pays report. They have always indulged in shameless hucksterism, making it seem as though going to college is great for everyone, making them wealthier, healthier, better citizens, and so forth. The new Education Pays is just as bad, but what with the college bubble starting to deflate, it has something of a "Baghdad Bob" character -- proclaiming that college is wonderful when it's obvious that for many students it was a gigantic waste of time and money. In my latest Forbes piece, I take issue with the report's irresponsible claims.
