The National Association of Scholars is delighted to learn that Alumni and Donors Unite has sponsored the publication of The Woke Takeover at University of San Diego. Woke Takeover follows in the wake of the Idaho Freedom Foundation’s examinations of social justice education at Boise State University and the University of Idaho—and of the NAS’s own Social Justice Education in America.
America especially needs these individual reports, about the University of San Diego, Boise State, and the University of Idaho. But we also need to know what’s happening at every single college in the country—and we need a comprehensive analysis of just how the new radical establishment has taken over each university. Policymakers, alumni, and ordinary citizens need to know precisely what is wrong at each university, so they can apply pressure on these institutions to reform themselves. To that end, Alumni and Donors Unite offers an action plan for how to follow up on their reports with concerted campaigns to redeem colleges. At the very least, Americans need to know how to avoid spending good tuition money on the worst colleges.
We need a researcher at each college—maybe a professor or a student, maybe an ordinary citizen. We need someone who knows that individual college, who loves what it once was, and who will take the time to write about what has gone wrong, so it can be put right again.
We need 4,000 researchers and more, for every college in America. At this point, we know the broad strokes of the woke assault on higher education. Now we need the details.
