Let's All Go to College? Not So Fast

In today's Minding the Campus, retired Rutgers University sociologist and long-time NAS stalwart, Jackson Toby examines what role a large cohort of disappointed, unemployed college graduates may have played in driving the recent upheavals in Egypt, Tunisia and Syria. And while he doesn't predict that we'll replicate the Middle Eastern experience locally, he argues that we may nevertheless be similarly confronted by a sizable number of crestfallen and angry college grads with heavy debts and no jobs.
